Individual therapy with a Psychologist
Psychologists are trained to help people deal with a wide range of mental health issues, emotional difficulties, and behavioural challenges. Therapy with a psychologist is a professional and confidential relationship.
Psychology& is a place to:
Find clarity and direction
Manage stress and anxiety
Discover creative ways to navigate challenging situations
Build coping tools and techniques to deal with your challenges
Develop a better understanding of yourself and your identity
Improve your relationship with yourself and others
Learn techniques to manage sleeping issues and to manage physical and emotional pain
Learn ways to practice self-care and become less critical
Feel deeply heard and understood
At Psychology&, we welcome all people and are inclusive of identity, culture, gender and life stage. We create a safe space for everyone and aim to ensure you feel welcome and understood. Therapy is your time to reflect, reprocess, and redefine yourself and your relationships. By sharing evidence based and effective approaches with you we aim to:
Help you explore patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving that may contribute to difficulties. And practice tools to manage and create relief from these patterns.
Guide self-reflection and exploration, in order to gain insight into your emotions, behaviours, and the root causes of challenges. Giving you the skills to build your insight and self-compassion.
Tailor interventions to your unique needs and circumstances. Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all approach, and treatment plans are adapted as needed.

Fees
Our fees are $295 per 50 minute session.
In addition to your 50 minute consultation with a psychologist, a minimum of 10 minutes are used by your psychologist to complete clinical notes and treatment planning. Treatment planning occurs behind the scenes and your psychologist will dedicate time outside of session to ensure you are receiving the best possible care. Your psychologist will also provide GP letters when required and to comply with Medicare should you provide a Mental Health Treatment Plan.
Our fees are reasonable and standard within private psychology practice. In fact, they sit below the Australian Psychological Society’s recommendation of $318 for a 40-60 minute session.
The amount of money you are out-of-pocket when seeing a psychologist depends on a few factors including Medicare Rates and Private Health cover.
Medicare Rebates
If you receive a rebate via a Mental Healthcare Plan, Medicare rebates a portion (approx. 1/3) of each psychology session for a total of 10 sessions each calendar year.
If you require support for chronic disease management, Medicare rebates a portion for up to 6 sessions per year. You can learn more here
Your GP can determine which plan is appropriate for you.
Private Health
Many Private Health insurance policies with ‘extras’ cover psychology sessions. Your private health insurance provider will provide more information regarding your rebate entitlements.
